Artist: Add a New Artwork Category

When you expand your artwork portfolio to include new categories, you must complete several tasks in your self-managed website by accessing your website administrative area.
For more information about logging into your administrative area, contact Skyview Development.

Add a Post Category

You can add a category to your website through the menu, or while adding new artwork.

To add a category through the menu, complete the following tasks:

  1. In the left menu bar of the administrative area, go to Posts > Categories
  2. Enter information in the following fields:
    1. Name – The name of the category that will be shown on pages and menus
TIP: Keep the name short and do not include symbols such as “+” so that it appears as expected on various pages of the website.
    2. Slug – The path name that will be shown in the URL of all artwork in the category
    3. Parent – The parent category for the new category, such as “Artwork”
    4. Description – Depending on your website design, when the user hovers the pointer over the category menu name, this information will be shown
